Rupesh Boddapati

Rupesh comes to UToledo from Northville, Mich. He is a senior majoring in bioengineering through UToledo’s BACC2MD program, a sequential degree program leading to an M.D. within the College of Medicine and Life Sciences. He currently holds a 3.82 grade point average. Rupesh ultimately wants to become a physician with his own practice and aspires to build hospitals in resource-deprived communities.

Rupesh is the founder and president of HOSA Future Health Professionals, and is a Student Advisory Board member for the College of Engineering. In his local community, he is the founder of GJ – Alleviating Hunger and Food Waste, a volunteer-driven organization that serves as a means to distribute surplus food to food banks, soup kitchens, food pantries, religious centers, and more.

Ala’a Kayed

Ala’a thrives on empowering others. She’s only in her second year of college but ranks as a junior in her coursework. Ala’a is majoring in political science and currently holds a 3.65 grade point average. Ala’a is passionate about the importance of academics. She would like to pursue a career in Higher Education, allowing her to coordinate programs for community outreach in underserved communities. Ala’a plans to complete graduate degrees in this field of study.

Ala’a is the president of the Multicultural Greek Council at UToledo and vice president of Alpha Psi Lambda National, Inc. The Toledo native has volunteered with the Cherry Street Mission, the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, the Salvation Army and currently volunteers with the Toledo Northwestern Ohio Food Bank. She is a Levis Leadership scholar who also serves as a Presidential Ambassador.

Dana Kriner

Dana grew up in Maumee, Ohio. She is a senior majoring in criminal justice at UToledo with a current grade point average of 3.97. Dana is passionate about contributing to society and aspires to become an FBI officer or a special agent at the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. She plans to complete her work with the police academy as well as graduate from the University of Toledo in the fall. After graduation, she plans to enroll in a master’s program.

Dana currently serves as the president of the Criminal Justice Society, a student group that strives to advance justice within the criminal law system. Dana was a long-standing member of the Lucas County Sheriff’s Office Police Explorer program, in which she was the first explorer to date to achieve the rank of captain. Dana also has served in the U.S. Naval Sea Cadets and Civil Air Patrol programs, in which she was honored as the best shipmate by peers and leaders, lead cadet, and honor cadet for having the highest GPA.
