Women & Philanthropy 2017 Holiday Project: Encouraging Early Literacy in Toledo Elementary Classrooms

Listen to the Chair of Women & Philanthropy, Marcy McMahon, give an interview with WSPD's Fred and Scott here!

Women & Philanthropy is partnering with the Judith Herb College of Education to raise funds for the purchase of scholastic books for first, second and third grade classrooms in Toledo to promote early literacy and allow inner city and other elementary students to gain greater reading skills. Schools included in the project work with the University of Toledo as a place where student teachers train or where there is a UT-related reading program. All schools have between an 83-100% student population qualifying for free lunches.
