Trustees Join The University of Toledo Foundation Board

Four trustees have been elected to serve three-year terms on The University of Toledo Foundation Board.

The UToledo alumni were appointed by resolution at the Foundation annual meeting. Their terms began July 1.

They are:

Robert W. “Bob” Schoonmaker, senior vice president with Huntington Bank. He has been with Huntington since 2011 and has served in the financial services industry for more than three decades in southwest Florida and since 2004 in northwest Ohio. Schoonmaker received a bachelor’s degree in business administration in finance from UToledo in 1992 and a master of business administration degree from the University of Michigan.

Rasesh H. Shah, CEO of Boundary Rail LLC in Toledo. For more than 20 years, he was president of The Andersons Rail Group, retiring in 2018. An alumnus of the University, Shah received bachelor and master of science degrees in mechanical engineering and industrial engineering, respectively, in 1977 and 1982. In addition, he earned a master of business administration degree from UToledo in 1986. The College of Engineering recognized his accomplishments in 2007 with the distinguished alumnus honor.

Martin P. Sutter, chair, CEO and president of GenoaBank and its parent company, GenBanc. He has worked as a community banker with GenoaBank since 1988. Sutter received a bachelor’s degree in business administration in finance from UToledo in 1987, and he holds a degree in commercial banking from Oklahoma University and a master’s degree in business from Bowling Green State University.

Robin Whitney, chief strategic planning, business development and real estate officer for ProMedica Health System. Prior to joining ProMedica, Whitney worked at the Lathrop Co., Dillin Corp. and the city of Toledo. She received a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering from UToledo in 1986 and is a Professional Engineer in Ohio. Whitney also earned an executive master of business administration degree from Bowling Green State University.

Also at the annual meeting, it was announced Judge Nancy A. Miller of the Lucas County Probate Court was elected president of the UToledo Alumni Association in May and will serve one year as an ex-officio member on The University of Toledo Foundation Board of Trustees. She received four degrees from UToledo: bachelor of arts degrees in psychology and sociology in 1977; master of education degree in guidance and counseling in 1979; and a law degree in 1988.
